Curbside Pet Spa Policies

OUR POLICIES

 
Our philosophy is to offer a stress free grooming experience for your pet.

  • Your pet’s safety and comfort are our number one priority
  • Senior pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort
  • We will not perform any grooming procedure that causes pain or a level of stress that we believe is excessive.  This includes nail trimming in some situations (we will do our best, however, some dogs get too stressed so we may decide not to continue with the trim)

MEDICAL OR BEHAVIORAL

 
Medical

  • You, the pet owner, need to advise us of any medical, physical, emotional issues, allergies, sensitivities, or pre-existing conditions (including prior surgeries, hip or joint issues, warts, moles, ear infections or skin problems)
  • We will NOT groom any pet who is not up-to-date on their Rabies vaccinations as required by law

   Behavioral

  • It is important you inform us of any behavioral issues (good or bad) your pet may have
  • We reserve the right to refuse service
  • We reserve the right to muzzle your pet (although every effort will be made to not use a muzzle)
  • The pet owner will be held liable for any bites that require medical treatment and for any property damage caused by their pet
  • All bites will be reported to the local authorities as required by law
  • Grooming services can be stopped mid-groom, if necessary, for the safety of the pet groomer and pet. There still will be a price charged, but at the groomers discretion depending on the amount of grooming that was done

FLEAS AND TICKS

   Fleas and ticks will NOT be tolerated

  • Pet owners must notify us beforehand of any fleas or ticks
  • A flea bath is $20.00 extra (which pet must have in order to continue with groom)
  • Flea baths are scheduled at the end of the grooming day in order to treat the trailer with flea killers to prevent transmission of fleas from pet-to-pet in our care

MATTING

      We are not responsible for any pre-existing conditions that may be found under existing
matts or due to a matted coat

  • If you would like your pet brushed out, de-matting fees are $1.00 per minute
  • De-matting can be very painful for your pet, therefore, we will not de-matt if it appears the pet is uncomfortable during the process
  • If your pet cannot be humanely de-matted, we may ask permission to clip the hair short and ‘start over’.  We will always ask your permission

APPOINTMENTS / PRICING / PAYMENT

   Appointments

  • We require 24 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment
  • Failure to call 24 hours in advance may result in a $40.00 cancellation/no show fee, to be paid prior to your next appointment (advanced notice gives us the opportunity to fill your grooming slot and rearrange our schedule)
  • We will arrive as close to the scheduled appointment time as possible.  If there is a significant delay we will call you ahead of time
  • If you are not able to be home for the groom and would like to make arrangements for the groomer to do the groom anyway, please contact us to make those arrangements
  • If you are not satisfied with your pets groom please notify us within 4 days of the grooming appointment and we would be happy to come back and fix the issue for no additional fee.    

   Pricing

  • Pricing varies for each dog and is determined by breed, size, condition of coat and the temperament of pet
  • Additional charges apply for de-shedding, de-matting, excessive coat, conditioners and flea treatments due to the additional time it takes
  • Additional charges may apply due to the pet’s temperament and behavior during the groom

   Payment

  • Payment is due at completion of groom
  • We accept cash, check, debit and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover)
  • Checks shall be made out to “Curbside Pet Spa”
  • There will be a $35.00 charge for non-sufficient funds
  • A 6.35% CT sales tax will be added to your total grooming services cost
